Envy meme

From fizzgig_bites:

We all have things about our friends that make us slightly envious.

Not in a bad way, but in a 'Wow! I wish I had that person's hair/eyes/money/relationship/toenails/whatever.'

So tell me what about me makes you envy me. . . then if you feel like it, post this in your LJ and see what makes me envious of you.

I envy your job and your tech skills. Library geeks are sexy.

i envy your photography skills. you have an eye for putting something in just the right frame/angle/whatever to take photographs instead of mere snapshots.

I suppose I'd like to have a healthy romantic relationship like you do, but I certainly would never use the word "envy", because I'm quite fine as I am right now. In fact, I can't think of very much in the world I'm envious of at all.

Does that make sense? "Envy" implies dissatisfaction, does it not? I'm not sure I could apply that word to myself.

Except for one thing - I'm envious as hell of guys in bands who get to jam all the time. Every time I see someone on stage, or in a bar, or even in a basement, rocking out - I think to myself "That should've been me".

You're not in a band, are ya? Ya lucky bastard!

You are very strong emotionally.

I envy your amazing intellect. (1600 on the GRE rocks!) I often feel kind of stupid because I am surrounded by people of superior intellect.

I'm envious of your patience.

I envy your lightning fast and razor sharp brain. God, I have never felt as stupid as when I talk to you. (But that's my problem, not yours, so don't start to wonder if that's a backhanded compliment -- it's not.)

I envy your comfort and acceptance of yourself in your own skin. At least that's what you project, and it's both wonderfully calming to be around (using the theory that if cozy people make you feel cozy, crazy people make you feel crazy) and frustrating. Without you doing anything at all, I can suddenly feel like my life, my sense of self, is lacking. (Again, not anything at all bad about you. Just about me.)

Hm. Who knew a meme about you would really end up being all about me?

About Me

I believe in humanity: our indwelling capacity for good, our insatiable desire to make ourselves known to one another, our coruscating passion for knowledge, our ability to handle the truth, and our capacity for learning from really dumb mistakes.

I believe in humor as the universal solvent of ignorance, grief, and fear.

I believe in public libraries.

I believe in using intellectual property rights to establish a sustaining wellspring for the creative endeavors of others; I believe in the Creative Commons license.

I believe in putting final punctuation outside the quotes unless it was present in the original.

I believe in the Oxford comma.

I don't believe in rigid gender lines, violence as national economic policy, or any particular religion (though I'm congenial to many).
